چکیده
A downstream process for the purification and concentration of formic acid (FA) from FA/gluconic (GA) mixtures, obtainable by a coupled biocatalytic reaction CO2 reduction glucose oxidation, has been developed. The involved two technologies: (i) first nanofiltration (NF) step to separate FA GA, (ii) second reactive liquid-liquid extraction (RLLE) concentrate FA. NF process, using Synder NFX membrane, consisted three steps separated into divergent lines, named permeate retentate pathways. was common both pathways, resulting in strongly enriched depleted with opposite characteristics. In pathway, this subjected obtain 99.6% pure permeate. an additional on resulted concentrated 99.4% GA retentate. final diluted RLLE tri-N-octylamine as extractant n-octanol, back-extraction NaOH. optimized 100-fold volume decrease solution (as sodium formate) 174.5 g/L, 78 times more than feed.

Separation of Formic Acid from Aqueous Solutions by Liquid Extraction Technique at Different Temperatures
In this study, the separation of formic acid from aqueous solutions was investigated. Liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) data including tie-lines was reported for water + formic acid + 2-methylpropyl ethanoate ternary mixture at (293.15 to 323.15) K and atmospheric pressure. The system shows type-I phase behavior based on Treybal’s classification because only one partially miscible binary mixture ...

متن کاملMolecular Model for Formic Acid adjusted to Vapor-Liquid Equilibria
A new molecular model for formic acid is proposed which favorably describes vapor-liquid equilibrium properties in the full temperature range. The geometry of the model was determined by quantum chemical calculations of the cis-conformer. The model is rigid and consists of anisotropic united atom Lennard-Jones sites and point charges, so that it requires relatively little computational effort.
